Icelandic Water
Icelandic Glacial™ is the super-premium natural spring water from the “Land Of Fire and Ice”.
The source of Icelandic Glacial – the Ölfus Spring – lies deep beneath an impenetrable layer of lava rock. This natural spring, one of the largest in the world, is continuously replenished from the mountains to the north through the gradual filtration of water from rain, snow and ice melt. Each day, 900,000m3 of water overflows into the sea – more than twice the total volume of bottled water consumed worldwide.
Jon Olafsson and his son Kristjan, native Icelanders, founded the Icelandic Glacial business in 2004 and set about creating the purest and most environmentally friendly bottled water in the market. Icelandic Glacial’s The state of the art production bottling facility can produce up to 30,000 bottles per hour. The plant has also been certified CarbonNeutral® – another industry first – and operates entirely on geothermal and hydroelectric power.
Unlike its major competitors, Icelandic Glacial water has an unusually high pH of 8.4 and amongst the lowest levels of dissolved solids (TDS of 62) in the industry. Based on these exceptional properties, Christian Dior selected and co-branded Icelandic Glacial as the water medium for its Dior Snow skin care range launched in 2012.
The distinctive high-end brand is sold globally into a growing premium market through an expanding distribution network. In 2016 Icelandic Glacial launched a new range of still and sparkling water in glass, winning the coveted Superior Taste Award for its new line of sparkling water, garnering three golden stars, the International Taste and Quality Institute’s top honor.
